A lakeside experience
Inside a Como silk workshop
Meet a family of silk weavers and spend a morning at a traditional hand loom.
Half a day
Learn by making
Como has a long textile history. This visit opens the doors of a family workshop established near the old town in 1931.
See the preparation frames, dyes and wooden looms before weaving a short piece yourself. The workshop finishes and wraps it while you take lunch.
The visit usually runs from nine until two. The workshop closes in August; available dates are confirmed when you enquire.
